Tibet among decades’ biggest protests, crackdowns
May 11 (Washington Post): Syria, Libya and other Middle Eastern regimes aren’t the only ones to use force against protesters.
In 2008, Tibetans living around the world protested China, demanding a free country. Major demonstrations broke out in Nepal and India, countries that are home to a big Tibetan refugee population, as well as Lhasa, the Tibetan capital.
