Protest marks religious festival in Tibet
June 16 (Phayul): A Tibetan monk from Dargyal monastery in eastern Tibet called for Tibet’s freedom at a large religious congregation on Saka Dawa in Kardze town on June 15 evening.
Eyewitnesses confirm that as Ngawang Lobsang started drawing the crowd’s attention, he kneeled down on the ground and continued calling for the long life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama with hands closed in prayers before he was taken away by Chinese security personnel.
