China completes strategic highway to Indian border

Dec. 15 (Bernama/Times of India): China has completed the construction of a strategic highway in Tibet’s Metok County close to the border with India. Times of India Dec. 12 said this will likely to boost China’s capability to move troops and logistics quickly to the borders. Construction of the highway, which began in April 2009 has its own strategic significance as the county was virtually the last post on the China-India border.
