Delhi Celebrates 91st Birthday of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama with Indian and Foreign Dignitaries
Bureau of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, New Delhi: The Bureau marked the auspicious occasion of His Holiness’s 91st birthday with a dinner reception at the India Habitat Centre this Monday.
The event was graced by Ambassador Shyam Saran, a veteran Indian diplomat and former Foreign Secretary of India, who served as the chief guest. The event drew an audience of approximately 150 attendees, including ambassadors, deputy chiefs of missions, senior diplomats from different countries, distinguished Indian dignitaries, and friends of Tibet.
In his remarks, Representative Mr. Jigme Jungney highlighted the Four Principal Commitments of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and thanked the Government of India for its enduring support and hospitality towards His Holiness and the Tibetan community in exile. The gathering held a one minute silence in memory of Martyr Mr. Lobga Rangzen, paying tribute to his sacrifice for the Tibetan cause.
Mr. Jungney further expressed appreciation to the international community for its steadfast solidarity and continued support for the Tibetan people.
